Florissant native Derek Anthony will be at Yacovelli’s Restaurant on Dec. 26 for a CD release party. His new CD, “Cowboy Way,” will be released in December. Anthony will play songs from the new CD, greet fans, and have copies of the CD to sell.

Anthony currently lives Keller, TX. He is a Nashville recording artist and the owner of Bluant Music Group record label. His CD, which will be released in December., is produced by Steve Mandile, who has worked with Tim McGraw and many other talents.

Anthony attended Ferguson Florissant schools from Combs through McCluer High School. He then went on to Missouri State University. His parents still live in Florissant.

The first single from Anthony’s CD is also called “Cowboy Way.”  It has been chosen to play at all the 2013/2014 Dallas Cowboys home games. Anthony has played at several venues in Texas, including Billy Bob’s, the House of Blue, and the Texas Motor Speedway. He has opened for several other acts, including for Keith Urban/Little Big Town/Dustin Lynch/Dierks Bentley/Miranda Lambert.  Opened up for Kansas at Billy Bobs.

Anthony is also known for his work raising awareness of ovarian cancer and raising funds to help fight the disease. His wife’s aunt passed away from ovarian cancer, and Anthony has devoted his time and talent to ovarian cancer organizations. He is scheduled to speak and perform at the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition (NOCC) Convention in Las Vegas in March.

Anthony and his family have also participated in the Dallas/Fort Worth Chapter’s Run/Walk to Break the Silence on Ovarian Cancer for the last three years. This year, he has formed Team Derek. Fans can donate to the run/walk through his team.

The free event at Yacovelli’s on Dec. 26 will be from 7:30 – 10 p.m. and  be held in the ballroom.
