Services Held for Gary Behlmann, founder of Accessible Play, Inc., Director of DAKOTA

Services were held for Gary F. Behlmann Monday at Hutchens Mortuary after he lost his battle with cancer on Nov. 30.

He is survived by Karen A. Behlmann (nee Robinson). He was the father of Kari (Chris) Kenyon, Barbara and Charlene Behlmann and the late Angie Behlmann, the  brother of Kathy (Jeff) Berviller and the late Karen O’Donnell, and the  brother-in-law of Tom (Mary) O’Donnell.

Behlmann was an advocate for children of all abilities. He was founder, president and passionate activist for Accessible Play, Inc., with the mission of building an all-inclusive accessible playground (Angie’s Playground) for children of all abilities.

Behlmann was a director of Dads and Kids out Together Association (DAKOTA), providing education and recreation to families of children with special needs. He was a valued employee of Carol House Furniture for over 27 years.
