River’s Edge Sports Complex, located at 5105 N. Highway 67 in Florissant, will host a six-week “Beginners Soccer” clinic for boys and girls ages 3 – 6 starting on Saturday, Sept. 7.  Each session will be one hour long with personalized instruction for every child, as well as controlled scrimmages where they can apply their newly-learned soccer skills.

Emphasis will be placed on basic soccer skills including dribbling, passing, shooting and team play.  Every child will receive individual and group instruction, and will be encouraged to advance at his/her personal pace.  Each child will also receive a free “River’s Edge Soccer”  tee-shirt.

At this age, children need clear direction, useful feedback and lots of positive reinforcement, and that is what they will receive at this clinic, said manager Doug Hartman.   “The focus will be on what the child is doing right, not what he/she did wrong.” he added.
