Central Tops Tight SNC Baseball Race; Pattonville Girls Lead in SNC Soccer

In Suburban North Conference spring Sports Pattonville has been in total command of Girls Soccer while in Baseball Hazelwood Central has a slight lead in a tight conference race, as of April 13.

Pattonville Girls Soccer is 2-0 in Suburban North Conference games, not including the SNC Tournament, 6-0 overall and has scored 42 goals and has only given up one goal, April 11 at Parkway Central. Ritenour is 1-0, 7-2-1, Hazelwood Central is 2-1, 7-3-1, McCluer is 2-1, 4-3, Hazelwood West is 2-1, 5-4-1, Riverview Gardens is 0-2, 3-5, McCluer North is 0-2, 1-7 and Hazelwood East is 0-2, 0-8.

Ritenour leads in goals scored with 44, followed by Pattonville, Hazelwood Central (38), McCluer (25), Hazelwood West (16), Riverview Gardens (12), McCluer North (four) and Hazelwood East (one). While Pattonville has only allowed one goal McCluer was second with six, Hazelwood Central was third with seven followed by Hazelwood West and Ritenour (12 each), McCluer North (28), Riverview Gardens (36) and Hazelwood East (64).

Hazelwood Central Baseball has three wins in three Suburban North Conference games (3-0) prior to April 14 and is 4-2 overall. Hazelwood West is 3-1 SNC, 3-3 overall, McCluer North is 3-1, 5-6, Pattonville is 1-1, 1-3, Hazelwood East is 2-3, 2-5, Ritenour is 1-2, 5-3, McCluer is 1-2, 2-7 and Riverview Gardens is 0-4, 0-7.

Hazelwood Central has scored 60 runs so far, second only to Ritenour with 62 followed by Hazelwood West (51), McCluer North (49), McCluer (47), Hazelwood East (41), Pattonville (19) and Riverview Gardens (nine). Ritenour also leads in runs allowed with 24, Hazelwood West and Pattonville each has allowed 30, followed by Hazelwood Central (33), McCluer North (65), Hazelwood East (76), McCluer (106) and Riverview Gardens (111).

OUTSIDE THE SUBURBAN NORTH — Incarnate Word Academy continues to have a dominant girls’ soccer team with a 9-0 record, 2-0 in the Metro Women’s Athletic Association White Division, prior to the April 15 game against Hazelwood West, and has a goal differential of 19-3. Trinity Catholic, as of April 9, was 2-5, 0-2 in the Archdiocesan Athletic Association with a 17-10 goal differential, Lutheran North has only one goal scored in their only win, 1-0 over Riverview Gardens and has allowed 22 goals in four losses and is 0-2 in the MWAA Blue Division as of April 12 and North County Tech fields a Girls Soccer team but the win-loss record is not available.

In Baseball Trinity Catholic is 2-3 as of April 12 including a 1-3 record in the AAA and has a run differential of 20-28. Lutheran North is 3-5 as of April 13 and it includes a 1-3 mark in the ABC League and has a run differential of 32-39. North County Christian has only a 12-8 loss to Tower Grove Christian on March 25 while McCluer South-Berkeley has two losses in two Suburban East Conference games prior to April 10 and has been outscored 33-3.

LACROSSE — Girls Lacrosse is now a varsity sport and it has the support of the Missouri State High School Activities Association, with 26 schools, while Boys Lacrosse is still a club sport. Hazelwood West, as of April 10 and Hazelwood East, as of April 12, are each 0-3 and are each a first-year sport while Hazelwood Central is 1-2 as of April 8. In Boys Lacrosse Hazelwood Central is 2-3 as of April 10.
