Florissant Recognized as Tree City USA for 24th Year

The City of Florissant has been recognized as a member of Tree City USA for the 24th time. Mayor Thomas P. Schneider and City Foresters Doug Shelley and Larry Gerst attended the 2013 Arbon Day Recognition Ceremony and Luncheon to honor the citys recognized, as well as Tree Campus USA and Tree Line USA recipients.

The eight counties that make up the St. Louis Region have 35 Tree City USAs this year. This is 44% of the total Tree City USAs in Missouri.

The Tree City USA, Tree Line and Tree Campus USA programs are sponsored by the National Arbor Day Foundation in cooperation with the US Forest Service and the National Association of State Foresters. These programs provide direction, technical assistance, public attention and national recognition for community forestry programs.
