Old St. Ferdinand Shrine will be hosting the annual St. Patrick’s Day Celebration on Saturday, March 15, from 11 a.m.– 5 p.m., in the Schoolhouse.
All St. Patrick’s Day celebrations are focused on eating those just right foods. As tradition dictates, the menu for the day includes corned beef, cabbage, Irish potatoes, desserts, coffee, soda and tea. All food is prepared by the Shrine’s own cooks, and you may dine–in or plan to carry-out your meal.
There will also be Irish music performed by: Morning Vision Blue and Jonathan Ramsey from 1-4 p.m. Morning Vision Blue is a dynamic acoustic blend of Grace Slick, Moody Blues, BB King, Jewel, Riverdance, Enya, Jethro Tull and more. MVBlue uniquely fuses celtic, blues and folk music integrating powerful vocals and compelling musical arrangements with unconventional instrument combinations .
Jonathan Ramsey performs original, traditional, and recent folk and acoustic Irish music. Jonathan delivers a wild, one-man show full of attitude-filled Irish songs. He’s almost half Christy Moore stirred into a cup of David Bowie.
Face painters will be available to paint you with all the right Irish emblems. The used book sale will be open on the second floor of the Schoolhouse.
The Shrine will be hosting a contest to find the best Irish photo. There will be prizes for the winners. Just bring you favorite Irish photo, it will be displayed and judges will select the winners. All photos will be displayed throughout the afternoon.
