Hazelwood\u2019s Harry S. Truman Park, 7029 Howdershell Road, will be the place to be on Saturday, July 7, to hear some of the best classic rock songs ever recorded.\u00a0 A five-piece band of seasoned musicians, known as Whole New Head, will be playing rock \u2018n roll the way it was meant to be played and heard.\u00a0 The concert begins at 7 p.m.<\/p>\n
Based in South St. Louis County, this new band has been making a name of itself performing all over the St. Louis region and on the Metro East side.\u00a0 Its repertoire includes classic rock, current rock and some original music.<\/p>\n
These talented musicians focus on playing rock \u2018n roll like no other band.\u00a0 Their song list includes most of the Top Hits of the classic rock genre ranging from Grand Funk Railroad\u2019s \u201cWe\u2019re an American Band\u201d to ZZ Top\u2019s \u201cSharp Dressed Man\u201d and Edgar Winter Group\u2019s \u201cFree Ride\u201d to Loverboy\u2019s \u201cWorkin for the Weekend.\u201d<\/p>\n
This is the second consecutive year that Hazelwood\u2019s Parks and Recreation Division has sponsored a free Summer Concert Series at Harry S. Truman Park under the new gazebo.\u00a0 Hazelwood residents and visiting guests are invited to come out and enjoy listening to their classic rock favorites, the way they were meant to be heard.\u00a0 A beautiful scenic view of the nearby pond and new fountain add to the overall <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n Audience members can bring their own lawn chairs, blankets and refreshments.\u00a0 But no glass containers are allowed.\u00a0 In case of rain, the concert will be held at the Hazelwood Community Center, 1186 Teson Road, in White Birch Park.<\/p>\n Here\u2019s the remaining schedule for Hazelwood\u2019s 2012 Summer Concert Series:<\/p>\n July\u00a0 28, 7 p.m., Concoction, Decades of Top Hits<\/p>\n Aug. 18, 7 p.m., Furious George, Classic Rock <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Hazelwood\u2019s Harry S.
