Race Open Filing Dates; Annexation on Ballot"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Area 13 Annexation on April 3<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Florissant Election Ballot<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Council Seats Open in 5 Wards<\/p>\n<p>With the recent approval of the St. Louis County Boundary Commission, Florissant will hold an election on April 3, 2012 on the Annexation of Area 13.\u00a0 The election will be held in conjunction with the regular municipal election to elect council representatives for Wards 1, 3, 5, 7 and 9.<\/p>\n<p>This will allow the voters of the city as well as the voters in proposed area to decide if Area 13 should become a part of the City of Florissant.\u00a0 The primary subdivisions included are Spring Creek Condominiums Phase 1-19, Sunland Hills Plat 1-4, Kiefer, Candlewyck, and John Evans Estate.<\/p>\n<p>Along with the proposed annexation, there will be a regular municipal election of council representatives for Wards 1, 3, 5, 7 and 9.\u00a0 Filing for those seats opens on Jan. 3 at 8 a.m. and closes on Jan. 17 at 5 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>Candidates must be a registered voter in the ward for which they are filing at least one year prior to filing, and are required to obtain 200 signatures of registered voters in the respective wards.\u00a0 No signatures may be obtained before the opening date for filing.\u00a0 Special city provided signature sheets must be used and additional blank sheets must come from the City Clerk\u2019s office and not be reproduced.<\/p>\n<p>Additional information on elections is available by calling the City Clerks office at
