What a Monday night it was for Rams fans as we all sat and watched the team miss opportunity after opportunity to put points on the board. What a different game it would be if the team could put the ball in the end zone in the red zone.<\/p>\n

Once again, I will harp on the obvious\u2014 we need a receiving core that can catch the ball. How many times did we have an opportunity for a 1st down and a receiver drop the ball? It was really nice to see local product DeNario Alexander make a few big catches at crucial times in the game but it just wasn\u2019t enough.<\/p>\n

I will stay with the same thoughts I have had for a long time in that a defensive coordinator doesn\u2019t always make a good head coach because they are too cautious. This Rams team needs to take more chances.<\/p>\n

They were 1-15 two years ago and 7-9 last year. You can take chances, especially with a schedule like they have this year here at the beginning of the season.<\/p>\n

Throw the ball long and hope for some interference penalties; the worst that can happen is that the ball is intercepted and that’s\u00a0 the same as a punt.<\/p>\n

The Rams had so much success with the no huddle offense and then they backed off of it, I don\u2019t understand it. Then, the phony stunt that the Giants played by acting like the players were hurt was even called out by the announcers. It worked though, it slowed the game down enough and held the Rams to a field goal. The Rams realistically could be 0-7 with the teams they will be facing. That scares me not only for the team and franchise but because of the fan base.<\/p>\n

The Rams were just starting to pick up some momentum and now the fans are chanting the same old tune. St. Louis is really lucky that we have Sam Bradford in our corner for a long time to come, he is someone we can build around.<\/p>\n

Cards Still in the Hunt<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Could the Redbirds still have a chance at the postseason? Just a few weeks ago we were looking at 10 games plus out and as I write this we are within 3. What a turnaround or is it a stroke of luck. Will it run out? This is how it all happens though,<\/p>\n

I have said it for years. A stroke of good luck and a hot streak at the right time and you are in a great position especially in baseball.<\/p>\n

I think most people had given up on this team a few weeks ago but you know how we are all bandwagoners here in St. Louis. Maybe it\u2019s a good thing we are like that. We always have optimism and hope and isn\u2019t that the way we should live life. This is very true for Albert Pujols, after a not-so-Albert like\u00a0 start to the season, he is on the verge of the .300\/30\/100 club once aghain. This is unbelievable for the 11th straight season.<\/p>\n

Even though we haven\u2019t heard any huge things all year about this guy, he quietly goes out and puts up the numbers, but are they enough though for that big contract? A deep run into the playoffs will go along way for the salary negotiations for the Cards first baseman. Let’s Go Redbirds.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
