Service International volunteers coordinated clean up work in a Bridgeton neighborhood.<\/strong><\/p>\n Bob Lindsey photos<\/strong><\/p>\n Since the Good Friday storms, the Maryland Heights\/Bridgeton community and various organizations have pulled together to get things cleaned up and on the road to recovery.<\/p>\n Kim Brady, executive director for the Maryland Heights Chamber of \u00a0Chamber says, \u201cworking with all the various entities has been so encouraging, everyone wants to help: the city and St. Louis County, local churches,<\/p>\n “Pattonville School District and Metro has assisted with the efforts,” said Brady \u00a0“Not to mention the fire districts and Police Departments who kept the situation under control and the residents safe.”\u00a0 One organization recruited its members and solicited 300 boxed lunches for the volunteers on Saturday, she said.<\/p>\n Service International arrived on the scene just days after the tornado hit coordinating volunteer efforts to help clean up the affected neighborhoods.\u00a0 “They have been instrumental in getting our city\u2019s to begin the healing process and have been a great asset.”\u00a0 Service International has on site at Grace Church for the past two weeks.\u00a0 There is still a need for volunteers. www.serviceinternational.org<\/p>\n MHCC has recruited volunteers, supplies, lunches for volunteers and even transportation for the relief efforts.\u00a0 Much of the collection is due to the support from the Chamber members, Brady noted.<\/p>\n MHCC is putting together a Re-Build Our Community Forum for Residents.\u00a0 The objective of this program is to assist the residents with the process of rebuilding.
