A bill to lower the Florissant Mayor\u2019s salary was quickly tabled at the council meeting. The bill, which would lower the mayor\u2019s salary as of the April election, was introduced by Councilmembers Tim Lee, Karen McKay, and Ben Hernandez.<\/p>\n
The bill would lower that salary to $103,500 per year. The current salary is over $130,000. The issue of the mayor\u2019s salary was brought up in the mayoral debate held by the League of Women Voters. Two of the six candidates, Susan Geerling and Mark Behlmann, have said that they are in favor of a reduced salary. Behlmann had proposed\u00a0 a 40 percent cut in the mayor’s salary.<\/p>\n
Councilman Keith Schildroth motioned to table the bill, and the council tabled it.<\/p>\n
In other matters,<\/strong> the council postponed deciding on a request for a beer and wind package liquor and Sunday license to the Conoco station at 525 N. New Florissant Road.
