The Pillars of North County celebrated the life of one\u00a0of their residents, Maude Holton<\/strong> who turned 100 this month! Maude\u00a0 said she doesn’t feel 100.\u00a0 She has friends all over the building and among the\u00a0 staff, and they showered her with hugs and kisses on Feb. 4.<\/p>\n Although she never\u00a0 had children, she has a big family who had planned a big party\u00a0 until the snowstorm hit in the first week of February, and many could\u00a0 not come from out of town.\u00a0 That party was scaled down for just the family and friends in town.<\/p>\n Maude loves music and church\u00a0 and is a very kind and affectionate lady, her fellow residents and staff say.\u00a0 She has a great sense of humor.\u00a0 At her birthday party, she was entertained with\u00a0 some of her favorite songs performed by Ed Kauffman of the Silver Belles.\u00a0 Her friends at the Pillars gave\u00a0 her a bouquet of red roses (shown in photo above) and a big bunch of balloons.\u00a0 The room was decorated in red and pink, with a banner on the wall specially made\u00a0 for her that said “Happy 100th Birthday, Maude!”. \u00a0Of course there was cake and\u00a0 Maude had two pieces.\u00a0 When asked what was the secret to living so long, she replied “serve the Lord.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Maude Hudson receives red roses and pink balloons at her 100th birthday party The Pillars of North County celebrated the life of one\u00a0of their residents, Maude Holton who turned 100 this month!
