Was all of the hype worth it as the Super Bowl rolled into Jerrie\u2019s Palace in Dallas? I have heard from many accounts that this was one of the worst Super Bowl experiences in a long time.<\/p>\n

Things just started off badly as the weather took an unexpected turn in the South with a snowstorm.<\/p>\n

This caused the first of many headaches including travel, lodging, and dining for attendees. Then the snow fell off the roof and injured seven people. All could probably season ticket suite holders for life.<\/p>\n

The weather at least cleared up on the day of the game but that\u2019s really when all of the trouble started. There were almost 1000 people who\u2019s seats weren\u2019t there for them, the National Anthem was sung improperly, the half time show sounded horrible and then there was the commercials which I felt lived up to none of the hype.<\/p>\n

There were about three good ones that I can remember which is pretty poor retention out of all of the commercials played.<\/p>\n

My favorite by far was the Star Wars Darth Vader kid starting the car. The game at least in the second half lived up to the hype with the Steelers coming charging back to make it interesting. I am a big believer in Karma and it was I think Big Ben\u2019s time for karma to rear its ugly head for him. He played well but just not well enough.<\/p>\n

I will give him the utmost respect as a player as he has played with multiple injuries all year and battled it out. Especially\u00a0 when he hyperextended his knee and then ran for a first down a few plays later. All in all, I wasn\u2019t impressed with the festivities yesterday.<\/p>\n

I don\u2019t know if it was because I didn\u2019t really care who won or that I just wasn\u2019t into the game that much. Even with that, I wouldn\u2019t miss a Super Bowl, it\u2019s the pageantry that surrounds the winning team at the end that I really enjoy.<\/p>\n

Marshall Faulk Gets His Day<\/strong><\/p>\n

It was really good to see Marshall Faulk get into the Hall of Fame on his first shot. This guy’s career really took off when the Rams got him. Isn’t is amazing how a player has so much potential but doesn\u2019t perform up to his potential but then he gets traded and gets some new scenery and he becomes a true Hall of Fame athlete. That was definitely the case with Marshall Faulk, as Kurt Warner and Mike Martz put him on the map.<\/p>\n

I am so sick of hearing about this lockout by the players and owners. Could you shoot yourself in the foot any worse if you don\u2019t play next year. I think this might all be a publicity stunt.<\/p>\n

The way I look at it is that they are eventually going to work out a deal sometime, why not make it sooner than later. I don\u2019t think the fans are going to have any feelings for people arguing over billions of dollars when they are already stretched to even pay to take a family to a game as it is. We saw this with baseball in the past. Football should learn from their mistakes. If you look at the revenue growth from the league over the past 20 years, it is substantial.<\/p>\n

The one issue I am really into is seeing some of the retired\u00a0 veterans who played\u00a0 in this league get the money they deserve. They are what made this game great and if you watch a lot of these TV specials about former NFL players, they are aching everyday and taking tons of medication just to get through the day.<\/p>\n

Many would say\u00a0 it’ s part of the game and their career and it\u2019s just a hazard of the job. It will be interesting to follow the negotiations.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
