It\u2019s amazing how the year just flew by.\u00a0\u00a0 The Dining Divas started a new tradition what seemed like just yesterday, and 12 months later, it was that time again.\u00a0 Time for our progressive dinner.<\/p>\n

\"Lisa<\/p>\n

Last year, we enjoyed incredible food.\u00a0 Lots of it.\u00a0 Too much of it that we were miserable.\u00a0 This year, we changed things up a bit.\u00a0 We settled on traveling to only two homes for a couple reasons.\u00a0 Less food and more time to play games.<\/p>\n

The Creative Diva decided this year that we\u2019d theme the food.\u00a0 We focused on only appetizers and desserts, and everyone was to bring food representing their nationality.\u00a0 It\u2019s amazing how the Super Tan Diva suddenly became Mexican.\u00a0 It\u2019s also amazing when we realized that there are Germans everywhere.\u00a0 And from the lack of recipes we found, they also must eat out way too much.\u00a0 So we improvised.<\/p>\n

The Italian Diva brought meatballs and a cake from a bakery.\u00a0 The word \u201cbakery\u201d ends in a vowel so that must mean that the cake is Italian.\u00a0 The Greek Diva decided to represent her other half, the Redneck side, and she brought a Derby Pie.\u00a0 We assumed that\u2019s because she and her Redneck friends used to get sloshed at the Kentucky Derby and that\u2019s why she brought a Derby Pie.<\/p>\n

We learned that the Black Forest actually exists in Germany, and \u201cone of the many\u201d German Divas brought a Black Forest cake.\u00a0 Another German Diva brought Potato Pancakes and Lebkuchen, a gingerbread sort of cookie.\u00a0\u00a0 Our French Diva decided to bake a cake.\u00a0 Baking is foreign to her so for that, we gave her a pass on not creating something French.\u00a0 We were really hoping for Rookies French fries.<\/p>\n

Since the Newlywed Diva\u2019s discovery of \u201cScattergories,\u201d any extra time to play the game is time well spent.\u00a0 She\u2019s competitive and loves to play games, but she doesn\u2019t like to lose.\u00a0 And she doesn\u2019t mind throwing game pieces at her competitors.\u00a0 We also recommend \u201cApples to Apples,\u201d a great game to play with people you know.\u00a0\u00a0 Table talk is recommended, and the Newlywed Diva is an expert at that.\u00a0 Of course, she won again, and she continues to remind us.<\/p>\n

Typically, the Dining Divas outings end after two or three hours.\u00a0 This night, it didn\u2019t end until after two in the morning.\u00a0 Let\u2019s just say, we found way more things to talk about and way more things to laugh about that it was worth staying up way past our bedtimes.<\/p>\n

Just like the year, the evening flew by for us.\u00a0 We can\u2019t wait for next year and maybe a new theme.\u00a0\u00a0 Maybe costumes\u2026representing our nationalities.\u00a0 Bad idea.\u00a0 Too many Germans.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
