The annual Christmas Concert at St. Ferdinand Shrine, #1 rue St. Francois in Old Town Florissant will be Sunday, Dec. 12 at 3 p.m.<\/p>\n
The concert is titled \u201cA Christmas Carol Gallery\u201d and\u00a0 features the\u00a0 Florissant Valley Holiday Choir composed of the choirs from Florissant\u00a0 Valley Baptist Church\u00a0 and St. Sabina Catholic Church. The Holiday Choir is under the direction of Tammy Stevenson of Florissant Valley Baptist Church and Florence Holbein of St. Sabina Parish.\u00a0 Also performing are the students of Sacred Heart School under the direction of Sharon Crosby\u00a0 and a\u00a0 sing-along led by guitarist Patrick Finley.<\/p>\n
Part One of the concert is a sing-a-long of popular carols while accompanied by\u00a0 Finley.<\/p>\n
Part Two features the Florissant Valley Holiday Choir with their selections: \u201cChristmas is the Best Time of the Year,\u201d\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u201cThis Baby Boy,\u201d \u201c The Prayer\u201d soloists \u2013 Ronn Brooks and Tammy Stevenson\u00a0\u00a0 and their final selection \u201cHome for the Holidays Medley\u201d\u00a0 soloists Emily and Hannah Stevenson present a \u201cChristmas Praise Duet.<\/p>\n
Part Three features the Sacred Heart Catholic School Sixth Grade Ensemble.\u00a0 Their selections include: \u201cJoy to the World,\u201d\u00a0\u00a0 \u201cOh Come All You Faithful,\u201d \u2018It Came Upon A Midnight Clear,\u201d\u00a0 \u201cHark! The Herald Angels Sing,\u201d\u00a0 \u201cWe Three Kings of Orient Are,\u201d\u00a0 \u201cGo Tell It On the Mountain\u201d and \u201cWinter Fantasy\u201d.<\/p>\n
Historic St. Ferdinand Shrine will be decorated for Christmas and will be a beautiful setting for the Christmas concert.\u00a0 This church has been providing Christmas services since 1821, and now 189 years later,\u00a0 the tradition continues. Seating is limited, so come early.<\/p>\n
There is no charge for the program but a free will offering will help support Old St. Ferdinand Shrine.\u00a0 A reception in the Schoolhouse, will follow the concert.\u00a0 Everyone is welcome.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
