Lowery met with a Senior Citizen Department Coordinator last week\u00a0 after which he announced that the City of Florissant will be participating in a \u201cDiscount Card Prescription Program\u201d through the National League of Cities.<\/p>\n<p>This program will be beneficial to residents who are without health insurance, a traditional pharmacy benefit plan, or have prescription not covered by insurance because it could possibly save them up to 20% off the full retail cost of their prescription medications.<\/p>\n<p>An additional program is available through the Greater North County Chamber of Commerce. However it has no restrictions to its membership requirements. So there are no age or income limitations. Also residents are not required to fill out an application. The purpose of this program is to help uninsured and underinsured resident of Greater North County afford their prescription medications.<\/p>\n<p>For more information about this program residents are encourage to www.greaternorthcountychamber.com or call (314) 831-3500.<\/p>\n<p>Lowery said that forms for the National League of Cities program will be available at City Hall, John F. Kennedy Community Center, and James J.
