SL County Launches Baby Essentials<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Drive to Support Families Impacted <\/strong><\/h2>\n

by Government Shutdown<\/strong><\/h2>\n

In response to the ongoing federal government shutdown, Saint Louis County Executive Dr. Sam Page and Department of Public Health Director Dr. Kanika Cunningham today announced a countywide Baby Formula, Diaper, and Wipes Drive to support families with young children who are experiencing disruptions in federal assistance programs like WIC and SNAP.<\/p>\n

The initiative, a partnership between the Saint Louis County Department of Public<\/p>\n

Health and the St. Louis County Library, invites residents to donate these essential<\/p>\n

baby items at any County Library branch or one of the three County Health<\/p>\n

Centers. Community members can also shop from curated Amazon and Target<\/p>\n

wish lists, with items shipped directly to the Department of Public Health for<\/p>\n

distribution.<\/p>\n

\u201c\u00a0\u00a0 We know that many families in our community rely on federal programs to feed<\/p>\n

and care for their children,\u201d said Dr. Page. \u201cThis drive is one way we can come<\/p>\n

together to ensure that no baby goes hungry during this difficult time.\u201d<\/p>\n

Saint Louis County is home to a significant portion of Missouri\u2019s families who rely<\/p>\n

on federal nutrition assistance:<\/p>\n

  • 11,233 recipients of WIC in Saint Louis County and the County\u2019s Department<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    of Public Health serves 5,000 of those recipients.<\/p>\n

      \n
    • 47,459 households received SNAP benefits in the County in September 2025<\/li>\n
    • the highest number in Missou<\/li>\n
    • Kristen Sorth, St. Louis County Library Director & CEO said, \u201cSt. Louis County Library and Saint Louis County have a proven track record when it comes to supporting families. We are happy to partner with them once again to collect formula, diapers and wipes at all of our branches to support our neighbors.\u201d<\/li>\n

    • Donate baby formula, diapers (all sizes), and wipes at any St. Louis County Library branch or these County Health Centers:<\/li>\n
