St. Louis County Leaders Praise Boeing\u2019s $20 Billion <\/strong><\/h1>\n

Contract for Next-Generation Fighter Jets (F-47) <\/strong><\/h1>\n

The St. Louis County Council is excited to announce that Boeing Company has been awarded a $1.8 billion contract to produce the U.S.<\/p>\n

Air Force\u2019s next-generation fighter jets. This project, highlighted by President Donald Trump at the White House on Friday, will take place at<\/p>\n

Boeing\u2019s expanding facility in north St. Louis County, bolstering the region’s aerospace leadership.<\/p>\n

As part of Boeing\u2019s $1.8 billion expansion near St. Louis Lambert International Airport, the contract will create 500 direct jobs and many more in supporting<\/p>\n

industries, adding to Boeing’s local workforce of nearly 16,000 employees and 34,000 additional jobs across the area.<\/p>\n

\u201cSt. Louis County is an enthusiastic partner of Boeing, and this will be an incredible boost to the region\u2019s economy,\u201d County Executive Sam Page said Friday.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are pleased that Saint Louis County provided tax incentives to make this exciting project in North Saint Louis County possible.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is a monumental win for North St. Louis County,\u201d said St. Louis County Council Chairwoman Rita Days. \u201cBoeing\u2019s decision to anchor this program here<\/p>\n

reflects our skilled workforce and strategic location.\u201d<\/p>\n

U.S. Sen. Eric Schmitt also posted on social meeting that the next generation of fighter jets (F-47) that will dominate the skies and protect America and\u00a0\u00a0 will be<\/p>\n

built in St. Louis. Boeing has a long history of building the nation\u2019s top fighter jets mostly in St. Louis County at the Boeing complex in North County.<\/p>\n

In September 2023, the Council approved about $155 million in tax incentives to facilitate Boeing’s expansion, underscoring St. Louis County’s vital role in<\/p>\n

national security and advanced manufacturing.<\/p>\n

The Council appreciates Boeing’s commitment to the region, North County in particular, and includes $13 million in charitable annual contributions and<\/p>\n

support for local initiatives. As construction and production ramp up, St. Louis County is ready to assist Boeing in delivering these advanced fighters.<\/p>\n
