Saint Louis County Conducting<\/strong><\/h1>\n

Count of the \u2018Unhoused\u2019 Jan. 23<\/strong><\/h1>\n

 <\/p>\n

On Thursday, January 23, the Saint Louis County Department of Human Services, in collaboration with the St. Louis County Continuum of Care, the St. Louis County Police Department, local service providers, and volunteers, will conduct the 2025 Point-In-Time Count. This annual census of unhoused residents will take place between 5-9 a.m. and is a critical effort to better understand and<\/p>\n

address homelessness in our community.<\/p>\n

The Point-In-Time Count, mandated by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban<\/p>\n

Development, plays a vital role in:<\/p>\n

    \n
  • Assessing the needs of unhoused individuals and families in St. Louis County.<\/li>\n
  • Securing and maintaining funding for housing and support services.<\/li>\n
  • Guiding future housing and service initiatives for the region.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    \u201cBy participating in this census, Saint Louis County reaffirms its commitment to creating a community where everyone has access to safe, stable housing and the resources they need o thrive,\u201d said County Executive Dr. Sam Page. \u201cWhile this count is a key event, Saint Louis<\/p>\n

    County is committed every day to addressing homelessness through a variety of services.\u201d To ensure the safety of volunteers and participants, St. Louis County Police officers will accompany teams as they canvass neighborhoods and locations throughout the county.<\/p>\n

    Individuals encountered during the count will receive resources tailored to their needs.<\/p>\n

    \u201cEvery individual we meet represents a story and a need,\u201d said Ambur Banner, director of the Department of Human Services. \u201cThe information we gather helps us ensure that no one in our community is overlooked and that resources are directed where they are most needed. Together, we can make meaningful strides toward ending homelessness in Saint Louis County.\u201d<\/p>\n

    The Salvation Army \u2013 Family Haven, located at 10740 Page Ave., St. Louis, MO 63132, will serve as the operational hub for the event. Staff and volunteers will coordinate efforts and<\/p>\n
