The Mayors\u2019 Shamrock Charity Ball, the premier green tie event of North St. Louis County, will be held Saturday, March 2, 2024, from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m.<\/p>\n

The ball again this year will be at Orlando\u2019s Event Center, 2050 Dorsett Village Plaza, Maryland Heights, MO 63043. This event is open to the public with tickets purchased in advance. All proceeds from ticket sales, event sponsorships and raffle drawings directly benefit Valley Industries Sheltered Workshop, which provides dignified and meaningful employment for over 160 adults with developmental disabilities.<\/p>\n

The Mayors\u2019 Shamrock Charity Ball is a major fundraiser for the not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization Valley Industries. All the money raised is used to make Valley Industries the best place it can be for its workforce. In addition to being committed to customer satisfaction, Valley Industries is equally committed to all 160 employees. Their goal is to offer a high-quality employment program that builds morale and rewards hard work and productivity.<\/p>\n

Over the past 15 years, we have watched the Mayors\u2019 Shamrock Charity Ball evolve into one of St. Louis region\u2019s must-see social affairs, Not only does it boast great food and music with a touch of Irish whimsy, but it also provides the residents who live in Black Jack, Florissant, Hazelwood, Ferguson, Bellefontaine Neighbors, Dellwood, Bridgeton and Maryland Heights a wonderful opportunity to meet their elected officials during the event. Individual tickets for $125 each (purchased at www.valleyind.net) usually sell out fast. Guests come dressed up to dance the night away to the music of the Trilogy Band.\u00a0\u00a0 EVENT SPONSORSHIPS AND TICKETS\u2014The Mayors\u2019 Shamrock Charity Ball offers generous sponsorship packages to local businesses, organizations, and individuals. Different sponsorships are available at the following donation levels: Event Sponsor \u2013 $5,000; Emerald Sponsor \u2013 $2,500; Deluxe Dual Pot of Gold and Golf Sponsor\u2013 $2,250; Pot of Gold Sponsor \u2013 $1,000; and Shamrock Sponsor \u2013 $350. TRILOGY BAND<\/p>\n

Returning for a second year to the Mayors\u2019 Shamrock Charity Ball, The Trilogy Band knows how to keep the evening lively with a song list that varies and covers different musical genres. Trilogy Band is an eight-member dance band that has been performing for 50 years and are all from North St Louis County originally. They began working for Bob Kuban 50 years ago and to this day still perform with his style of music!<\/p>\n

CROWNING OF THE KING AND QUEEN<\/p>\n

Efficient and loyal, Valley Industries employees are some of the best workers out there. To encourage this level of worker performance, Valley Industries offers an Employee-of-the-Month Program and Perfect Attendance Program. The organization also uses funds from the Ball to host many events to benefit their employees including monthly dance nights, employee barbecue lunches, and other team building events, as well as the annual Fabulous Valley Industries Employee Christmas Party.<\/p>\n

Opening on March 13, 1967, Valley Industries incorporated as Florissant Valley Sheltered Workshop with only 15 employees. Today, the Workshop employs more than 160 workers with developmental disabilities in a 60,000 square-foot facility in Hazelwood, and a 4000 square foot thrift store in front of the workshop.<\/p>\n

The highlight of the festivities will be the crowning of our Kings and Queens. The Kings and Queens are the Valley Industries\u2019 Workers of the Year from the previous year. Congratulations to Valley Industries\u2019 Workers of the Year Ms. Barbara Behlmann and Mr. Turner Richardson They will be crowned as the Queen and King of the 15th Annual Mayors\u2019 Shamrock Charity Ball. Their first function as royalty will be to cut the official Mayors\u2019 Shamrock Charity Ball cake, which will be baked, decorated, and donated by Helfer\u2019s Pastries & Deli.<\/p>\n

Barbara Behlmann has been with Valley Industries since 2014 and has excellent attendance and work ethic. She comes to work focused and is willing to try new jobs. Her supervisors report she is a diligent worker. She has great people skills, communicates with everyone, and makes everyone feel like a welcome part of the Valley family.\u00a0\u00a0 Barbara was a Varsity Cheerleader in High School and Prom Queen in 2012. She enjoys watching movies and videos<\/p>\n

Turner Richardson has been with Valley Industries since 2013 and has an excellent work ethic and great attendance. His supervisors report he is polite and always happy. He notices if anyone is struggling and will ask them if he can help.. Turner has a close group of friends at Valley and often sits and chats with them, or he enjoys a game of Uno with them before work or during his breaks. One supervisor has given him the nickname of #1 Hustler of Materials Handling. Turner<\/p>\n

ELECTED MAYORS OF EIGHT NORTH COUNTY CITIES CO-HOST The FUNDRAISER<\/p>\n

For the past 15 years, the elected mayors of eight North County communities have shown their support for Valley Industries Sheltered Workshop by co-hosting the ball<\/p>\n
