Seniors Bid Auld Lang Syne to New Year\u2019s<\/strong><\/h1>\n

Eve Party at Florissant \u00a0Civic Center<\/strong><\/h1>\n

An always festive crowd of seniors popped \u00a0the bubbly and sang farewell to 2023, 12 hours before the end of the actual year at the James Eagan Center. \u00a0It\u2019s been that way for many years as Florissant seniors and their friends celebrated New Year\u2019s at the daytime Florissant Senior New Year\u2019s Eve Party from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m..<\/p>\n

This was the last New Year\u2019s \u00a0Eve Party that will celebrated in that location, but it\u2019s not the end of the \u00a0event. \u00a0Next year the party will be held at the JFK Center on Howdershell Rd. The St. Charles Concert Band, a fixture at the party for the past several years, will be back and, hopefully, many of the same folks who were there on Dec. 31 will be back again next year.<\/p>\n

These were some of the scenes at this year\u2019s party, which is a highlight of the year for the Florissant Senior Commission and office staff who work year-round\u00a0this party better each year. \u00a0City Council members volunteer as bartenders and servers. Tornatore\u2019s Catering provided the lunch served at the tables by additional volunteers. About 40 local businesses donated \u00a0gifts and attendance prizes.<\/p>\n
