111 RUE ST. FRANCOIS\u00a0 BEFORE THE START OF THE LAST WEDNESDAY NIGHT OUT FESTIVITIES of 2023.
\nThe City of Florissant and Florissant Old Town Partners hav e announced a plaque dedication in honor of the late Satoko \u201cSue\u201d Mitchell. This will be the 60th Walk Through History plaque in honor of someone that have made valuable contributions to the City of Florissant or someone with Florissant roots that has impacted our community.
\nThe ceremony will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 27 at 5:30 p.m. in front of 111 rue St. Francois. The plaque dedication will take place before the start of the last Wednesday Night Out festivities hosted by Hendels Caf\u00e9.
\nSatoko Yamamoto was born in Nikko, Japan. She married Al Mitchell in 1952 and went by the name \u201cSue\u201d. She came to USA knowing only her husband. They raised five children. As a child she taught herself to sew when she lived in Japan.
\nShe opened Sue\u2019s Alteration Shop in Old Town Florissant and was there for over twenty years. She had strong ties with the Florissant community and was known for her kindness that built lifelong friends.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
