{"id":25299,"date":"2023-03-06T17:20:27","date_gmt":"2023-03-06T17:20:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/flovalleynews.com\/?p=25299"},"modified":"2023-03-06T17:20:27","modified_gmt":"2023-03-06T17:20:27","slug":"ms-missouri-senior-pageant-returns-to-florissant","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/flovalleynews.com\/?p=25299","title":{"rendered":"Ms. Missouri Senior Pageant Returns to Florissant"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1><strong>Ms. Missouri Senior Pageant On Stage April 30<\/strong><\/h1>\n<h1><strong>At Florissant Performing Arts Center<\/strong><\/h1>\n<p>A\u00a0 field of 12 contestants will grace the stage at the Florissant Performing Arts Center (formerly the Florissant Civic Center Theater) at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 30 for the Ms. Missouri Senior Pageant.<\/p>\n<p>Behind the scenes the activities are increasing.\u201cThis is the time when attention is focused on preparation,\u201d said Joyce Graham, 2022 Ms. Missouri Senior. \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u201cEach contestant is working with a past pageant pa r t i c i p a n t who works as a coach and mentor so she can present her best self to the audience and judges.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Pageant co-directors, Susan Pellegrino and Helene Siegfried are making sure contestants have what they need to create magic on stage. \u201cWe\u2019re here to help. And we will do whatever it takes for each participant<\/p>\n<p>to have a successful experience,\u201d says Pellegrino, who, with Seigfried are in their 8th year as pageant co-directors. There\u2019s a lot at stake for these women,\u201d says Dr. Nancy Pittman, one of the show\u2019s stage directors and first runner up in 2015. \u201cFor a singer, the music has to be the right length, in the correct key, and the costuming has to fit the personality of the performer.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s the same for dancers,\u201d said Judy Davis stage director and 2017 Ms. Missouri Senior. A dancer herself, Davis says, \u201cThe choreography must be interesting and the technique has to be right. The talent portion of the pageant is worth 30% of their score, so a participant\u2019s talent becomes a focus for coaches and advisors.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Cathy Loyd, first runner up in 2009, and Jerrie Eubanks, Ms. Congeniality in 2012, have the task of matching coaches \u2013 called big sisters &#8211; with<\/p>\n<p>contestants, based on their strengths. All the big sisters have pageant experience and are thereto create a great experience for their \u201clittle sisters.\u201d Loyd explains, \u201cSingers work with singers. Pianists work with pianists. Actors<\/p>\n<p>work with poets.
