Florissant to Host 1st<\/sup> Annual<\/strong><\/h2>\n

St. Patrick\u2019s Day Parade & 5-K Run<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Mayor Tim Lowery has announce that the recently formed Florissant Saint Patrick\u2019s Day Parade Committee will host the 1st annual Florissant St. Patrick\u2019s Parade, Festival & 5K Run on Sunday, March 13.<\/p>\n

The 5K run will start at 9:00 a.m. which will begin at the Duchesne Home Association (formerly the Knights of Columbus Grounds) located at 50 rue St. Francois.<\/p>\n

The St. Patrick\u2019s Day Parade will start at 12 noon beginning at Bangert Park located at 275 S. New Florissant Road and end at the Duchesne Home Association Grounds (at the entrance on rue St. Francois). This year\u2019s Parade Marshal will be Carole Lowery. The festival will start at 11 a.m. and end at 6 p.m. and will be held at the Duchesne Home Association Grounds.<\/p>\n

Mayor Lowery added, \u201cI really appreciate the hard work and commitment the committee members have done in getting everything planned and organized. We are proud to partner with the Florissant St. Patrick\u2019s Day Committee. Everyone is looking forward to another great event in our city.\u201d<\/p>\n

Councilman Patrick Mulcahy, <\/strong> one of the organizers and vice-president of the non-profit committee, for years \u201cthought why doesn\u2019t the city should have St. Patrick\u2019s Day Parade? So they formed the \u201cSociety for the St. Patrick\u2019s Parade – Florissant, MO\u201d Then recruited a group of dedicated and talented Florissant residents. They have been meeting for almost two years now to make this happen. \u201cWe are so excited we are almost to the big day. And yes this is the 1st annual of hopefully many more years to come,\u201d said Mulcahy<\/p>\n

Florissant is a city of festivals including the Hispanic Festival, Valley of Flowers & Fall Festival, and most recently the Polish Festival to name a few of the largest festials. Building on that rich tradition they formed a non for profit entitled “Society for St. Patrick’s Day Parade Florissant MO”.<\/p>\n

The goal is to have another great event where everyone in the community can gather as one and enjoy everything that Florissant has to offer.
