While the crowds were a little smaller than previous years, everyone seemed to enjoy the July 4th events on the civic center grounds. Many barbecued and brought picnic items while awaiting the concert and fireworks display .<br \/>\nResidents gathered in front of the Eagan Civic Center (bottom photo) to hear the Midnight Piano Band play classical piano hits from the &#8217;70s and &#8217;80s, from Elton John and others from the era.<br \/>\nThe evening concluded with the annual Florissant fireworks display, always one of the best in the metro area. The last five minutes of the half-hour display were especially impressive.
