The summer-long concert series paired with popular movies at Drive-In St. Louis returns this week to the 12-acre outdoor venue at the POWERplex. A Covid-safe, high-quality show will be held nearly every weekend night through Halloween. Concerts begin May 6 and continue through Nov. 6 \u2013 with more than 70 event dates scheduled. Tickets available at www.driveinstl.com. The concerts and movies join local graduation ceremonies planned for the popular outdoor venue. This year, more than 4,500 seniors will cross the Drive-In St. Louis stage to receive their high school diplomas. An estimated 60,000 parents and families will be on the lot for 16 high school graduation celebrations scheduled for Parkway, Clayton, Hazelwood, Rockwood, Normandy and several other districts from throughout the region. Contemporary Christian band Casting Crowns kicks off the season May 6. Local rockers Superjam will perform on the lot on May 7, and national-act Ambrosia will perform on Saturday, May 8. Ambrosia brings their well-known love songs to Drive-In St. Louis, a great concert for Mother\u2019s Day weekend. Ambrosia still has three of the original band members playing with this legendary group that rocked America in the \u201870s and \u201880s.<\/p>\n Trixie Delight will perform May 14. The band sold out their 2020 concert at Drive-In St. Louis. The concert venue is easy to access and quick to exit at the former St. Louis Outlet Mall in Hazelwood, now is transformed into a live concert, drive-in movie and special events venue in the coming weeks. Food Truck and May Schedule<\/p>\n This year, POWERplex has added a new hospitality tent for concessions and post-concert parties for all VIP and private party pad ticket holders after every show. \nThe safe, COVID-19 compliant drive-in campus meets all social distancing and health department recommendations. Ticket buyers can have a small party on a turfed party pad in front or enjoy the concert from their own private party pad on the parking lot. Meet up and bring your family and friends to your own private party pad where you can mask-less now if had your vaccines for COVID 19.<\/p>\n
\nParking passes for the concert and movie nights start at $44.95 for up to eight people in a party pad in the general admission area. Limited VIP parking spaces are available for every show,
\n\u201cIf you love live music and traditional drive-in movies for about $6 person you can experience both in your own parking pod in an outdoor safe social-distance setting for an unheard of price, \u201c said Dan Buck, managing partner at POWERplex, The new CVC guidelines will allow people who have been vaccinated to gather on their POWERplex parking lot pad. And you won\u2019t be in a cramped situation for a double dose of music and movies . You\u2019ll still need to wear mask to go to the concession stands and restrooms. Patrons can also bring their own food and non-alcoholic beverages. Adult drinks will be available for purchase at some concessions
\n\u201cSo many musicians have been out of work the past year,\u201d Buck said, \u201cwe want them to have to opportunity to perform in a safe environment\u201d Buck said concerts were always a part of POWERplex plans before it opened, and will continue after COVID is under control. Buck said they envision music acts performing at their outdoor stadium and other venues in the complex. \u201cGet a group together and come out and enjoy the music and movies\u201d Buck added<\/p>\n
