Drivers who regularly use Dunn Road along I-270 should be aware that MoDOT will close the eastbound lane of Dunn between Graham and Washington, beginning March 1. For seven months, a single lane will carry westbound traffic, while MoDOT begins conversion of this portion of Dunn to westbound traffic only.
\nThe westbound I-270 exit to New Florissant Road (Exit 27) will close permanently on March 1.
\nDetour routes for the closure will be marked. Drivers on the outer roads will utilize Pershall to travel east between Hanley\/Graham and Washington\/Elizabeth, using New Florissant or Washington\/Elizabeth to turn around and continue on westbound Dunn to their destination.
\nWestbound I-270 traffic exiting to New Florissant (Exit 27) will be detoured in advance of this exit via the I-270 exit ramp to Washington\/Elizabeth to access westbound Dunn and continue to New Florissant.
\n\u201cClosing Exit 27 and the eastbound lane of Dunn are necessary to reconstruct Dunn, including all connections to side streets and businesses, and replace current highway entrance and exit ramps, called cross-over slip ramps, with new modern ramps to I-270. This work will improve both safety and reliability on this section of I-270\u201d said Justin Wolf, I-270 North Project Director. \u201cOnce this section is complete, Dunn will be in its final configuration, with two lanes traveling westbound, and a third lane to accommodate traffic utilizing the Washington\/Elizabeth turnaround bridge to enter westbound I-270 or merge onto westbound Dunn.\u201d
