New Pershall Station Council Hears Plans

\"\"The Florissant City Council met via Zoom again for the council meeting Monday night. It was a short agenda, with no public hearings. There was a presentation from Ameren UE about the Pershall Project.
\nBrandon Nickel, engineer and project manager for Ameren, spoke to the council about the Pershall Project. \u201cThe focus of the project is to bring more reliable energy to residents,\u201d he said. Upgrades include a new substation and utility poles. The new Pershall station will be at the intersection of Hanley and I-270.
\nThe upgrades will affect homes and businesses along Hanley and Graham Roads and those to the east and west of the roads.
\nThere will be planned power outages in the spring and fall, Nickel said. They are planned at that time to avoid outages during extreme heat and cold. The project will be complete by the end of 2022, he said.
\nNickel said that outages should last up to four hours. He said that customers will be notified before any outages that affect them. Customers may also need to provide access to Ameren workers if they have equipment in their yards or on their property. If customers sign up for alerts on Ameren\u2019s website, they will get alerts before any work affecting them. Customers can sign up on the Ameren website.<\/p>\n

In other action, the council:
\n\u2022 Passed a bill that approves a subdivision for Club Carwash at 3170 N. Hwy. 67. This allows the carwash to separate their property from the larger Lowe\u2019s property.
\n\u2022 Approved a transfer of a special use permit from Ellis Denos to Penuel Raj Clement, doing business as Olympic Motor Co, for the operation of a pre-owned car dealership at 1760, 1780, and 1790 N.Hwy. 67. The council also passed a bill to approve the transfer.
\n\u2022Passed a bill authorizing a special use permit to allow for alterations to a ground sign at 490 Howdershell. This is the shopping center at the intersection of Howdershell and Keeven Ln.
\n\u2022Held a first reading on a bill adding a section about \u2018invasive, not-native, exotic plant species declared a public nuisance\u201d to the city code.
\n\u2022 Passed a bill authorizing the transfer of $1,500 from one golf course to another for golf cart maintenance.
\nHeld a first reading on a bill that would appropriate $4,940 to repair the gate at the dog park.
\n\u2022Passed a bill that will add a two way stop at Barcelona and Parc Chateau.<\/p>\n
