Filing For April Florissant<\/h1>\n

Council Seats Opens Jan. 6<\/h1>\n<\/div>\n

Candidates may obtain the necessary forms from the City Clerk on or after Jan. 5, 2021 at the Florissant City Hall, 955 rue St. Francois, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. ,Monday thru Friday.for filings for city council in the April 2021 elections<\/div>\n
Candidates for City Council must be registered voters of Florissant and shall have been a resident of the ward for at least one (1) year immediately prior to the date of the election.<\/div>\n
City Council candidates must obtain 200 signatures of registered voters in the Ward where the petition is being filed. Signatures cannot be obtained prior to opening day of filing and must be submitted on the forms provided.<\/div>\n
The petitions and affidavit must be returned to the City Clerk no earlier than Jan. 6, 2021 and no later than 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 19.. The affidavit that accompanies the petitions must be signed by the candidate for and notarized. The affidavit will be signed and the time and date recorded by the City Clerk. The petitions must be signed by the candidate obtaining the signatures, but need not be notarized.<\/div>\n
The City Clerk, upon being informed by the St. Louis County Board of Election Commissioners that the nominating petitions filed by a candidate are sufficient or not sufficient, shall notify the candidate immediately upon receipt of the same. If a petition is found insufficient, the City Clerk shall return it to the person filing it with a statement certifying wherein the petition is insufficient. Within the regular filing time for filing petitions, new or supplemental petitions may be filed for the same candidate.<\/div>\n
