At 58hundred, Dining Divas Find a Little Outside Dining Normalcy<\/h1>\n

It was a pleasant November evening the last time the Dining Divas were able to gather together again, and we were fortunate to try out another outdoor dining option. This time we went to 58hundred on Southwest.
\n58hundred has an outdoor patio, a must for the Dining Divas during the pandemic. And as an added bonus, they had live music. A one-man band entertained us with some classic rock that we all enjoyed. No one at our table even complained that we were sitting too close to the speakers, and it made it hard for us to hear. Or more than likely, I just couldn\u2019t hear anyone complain.
\nCatching up on the latest with the group (and no, we did not talk about the election\u2026well, not much, thankfully), our Dog Mom Diva shared with us the joy she had with the furry addition to her family. So fluffy and playful, he\u2019s such a loving addition to her family. But we all had tears as she shared the tough decision she\u2019s having to make to rehome the puppy due to health issues. Fortunately, a new family has been found.
\nThe Grandma Diva enjoyed her first time of joining her young grandkids as they went trick-or-treating on Halloween. One Diva had no kids come by her house, and another had over 50. So, we contemplated whether it was COVID or the neighborhood.
\nWe loved hearing the story of the Miracle Diva who was on the transplant list for a new kidney for four years. Thankfully, she\u2019s three years with her new kidney going strong, and she looks incredible.
\nOf course, COVID 19 was in the back of everyone\u2019s mind. The Newlywed Diva had only seen her in-laws twice since this all started. The Recovered Diva said she and her husband rarely go out\u2026just in case\u2026even though they\u2019ve had the virus. Which got us talking about Thanksgiving and how we all want to be with our families, but gatherings will definitely be different this year. We\u2019re hoping for really nice weather.
\n58hundred has some different menu options. Like the Brussel Sprout tacos. The Inquisitive Diva thought they were unique and delicious. We tried the Buttermilk Biscuits with apple butter. We liked them but wished they had provided whipped butter with them which would have been amazing. The Nashville Pimento Cheese Toast was interesting.
\nNot sure what makes it \u201cNashville\u201d, but it was great. One Diva was not impressed with them as her toast was too toasted (or in her words, burnt).
\nSeems we ordered mostly appetizers and sides as our meals. A couple Divas ordered the Smoked Shrimp Risotto, and it was deliciousness with a little kick. This is a starter option so we couldn\u2019t be surprised by the lack of shrimp in the dish. Three shrimp total. The Healthier Diva thought the Charred Broccoli with lemon, garlic, and chili oil was excellent. The 58 Burger, which is a smash burger, was very tasty, and the Garlic Herb Fries that accompanied the sandwich were a delicious surprise to even the Non-Fries-Loving Diva. Thin and crispy and not what were expected. The shrimp on the Shrimp Po Boy were tasty, but there was too much bread.
\nThe music and the company, and for most of us, the food, made this a wonderful night out. The owners of 58hundred also own The Block, and we all want to see them succeed and survive throughout this pandemic. Hopefully, this \u201cnormalcy\u201d continues into December as we have no idea what to expect, except we know seeing each other made us happy. So, what\u2019s to come, we don\u2019t know, but in the meantime, we\u2019ll keep ordering from these restaurants, even if it means we can only get it to-go.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
