POWERplex, located at the site of the former St. Louis Outlet Mall in Hazelwood , has filled a void starting this Thursday for those who can\u2019t find many outdoor entertainment venues operating this Memorial Day weekend or the first week of June.<\/p>\n
The future youth sports complex plans provide a new, safe space for outdoor entertainment. There will be live concerts and movies while practicing safe social distancing during the a new series called Drive-In St. Louis \u2014 Music, Movies and Graduations.<\/p>\n
Beginning May 21, the drive-in campus in Hazelwood, off Highway 370, will host 11 outdoor concert and movie nights.. The venue will follow all the remaining COVID-19 compliants for health department recommendations. Evenings will feature teenage- and family-friendly bands paired with family movies now through June 6.<\/p>\n
The concerts will be shown on five HD\/LED Jumbotrons, with music broadcast through FM stereo transmitters to car radios. The 9-acre audience area can hold up to 450 cars. Guests may bring their own coolers; barbecue and snacks can be delivered to vehicles. Each car will have a 10’x15′ picnic area where guests can sit outside while distancing from other cars.<\/p>\n
The venue opens at 5:30 p.m. with concerts at 7 p.m. and movies at 8:45 p.m. General admission parking passes each night are $40 per car in advance and $50 at the gate with a six person per-car limit. Guests can reserve spots in the front two rows for $60 per car in advance and $70 at the gate.\u00a0\u00a0 Tickets may be purchased online.<\/p>\n

Thursday, May 21: The concert series kicks off with Exit 180, rocking 70s, 80s, and 90s country and rock hits, followed by Raiders of the Lost Ark on the big screens. Tickets are half price on opening night.<\/p>\n
Friday, May 22: Fans of Tom Petty and Johnny Cash will love the music of Petty Cash Junction and the movie, Fast Times at Ridgemont High.<\/p>\n

Saturday, May 23: Klose Encounters will open for Joe Dirt and the Dirty Boys, followed by the cult classic Ferris Bueller’s Day Off on the big screens.<\/p>\n
Sunday, May 24: Dance Floor Riot will get things rockin’ with the movie Purple Rain to follow.<\/p>\n
Tuesday, May 26: FAMILY NIGHT Band TBD, followed by Pixar\/Disney\u2019s Onward.<\/p>\n
Wednesday, May 27: FAMILY NIGHT. The teenage boy band, Scamps. Movie: Pitch Perfect.<\/p>\n
Thursday, May 28: FAMILY NIGHT. Another great group of young rockers, Mint Queso. Movie: Space Jam.<\/p>\n
Saturday, May 30: It’s ’70s supergroup SuperJam with the movie Dazed and Confused.<\/p>\n
Friday, June 5: One of St. Louis’ favorite dance bands, Trixie Delight, followed by the movie Dirty Dancing.<\/p>\n
Saturday, June 6: Blues rock band Jeremiah Johnson with Chrome and Steele featuring Steve Scorfina of REO Speedwagon and Pavlov\u2019s Dog.<\/p>\n
There is no movie on this major concert night.<\/p>\n
