<\/h1>\n<\/h1>\nMayor Lowery announced that the City of Florissant will be participating in a County-wide food collection event called Mayors For Meals on Saturday, May 9.\u00a0 The Mayors For Meals food collection event will be held at Bangert Park from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event is being sponsored by the St. Louis Area Foodbank.<\/p>\n
The St. Louis Area Foodbank is the region’s largest nonprofit food distributor. They partner with more than 500 organizations and pantries to feed almost 400,000 people in their 26-county service territory, including St. Louis County. With recent strains from COVID-19, the Foodbank has seen an increase in need by up to 30%. Food collected from this drive will help alleviate food insecurity by providing local pantries<\/b> which includes TEAM<\/b> that is based in our community with a variety of food to meet their community’s needs. All shelf-stable food and personal care items welcome!<\/b><\/p>\n
