Attendees will learn about Phase II of the MetroLink\nSecurity Assessment before Metro Transit\u2019s New Public Safety Leadership Team\ntakes part in a panel discussion. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Registration can be\ncompleted online at www.cmt-stl.org or by arriving early to the event. The cost\nis free for CMT members and $10 for non-members. A limited number of\nscholarships are available to those with personal financial constraints.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jim Wild, executive\ndirector of East-West Gateway Council of Governments and sponsor of both phases\nof the MetroLink Security Assessment, is set to provide a brief overview of the\nTransit Security Report Card development as part of Phase II of the assessment.\nMetro Transit\u2019s Public Safety Leadership Team will then take the stage for a\npanel discussion. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Stephen Berry, general\nmanager of Metro Transit Public Safety; Kevin Scott, director of Metro Transit\nPublic Safety; and Vernon Summers, manager of Metro Transit Public Safety, will\ncollectively address the vision for public safety on transit moving forward. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cMuch has been\naccomplished in recent years relative to safety and security concerns on\ntransit, but there is still work to be done,\u201d said Kimberly Cella, executive\ndirector of Citizens for Modern Transit. \u201cI look forward to this update and\ncontinuing to see local leaders come together for the greater good of transit\nriders and the entire St. Louis region.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>CMT hosts quarterly\n\u201cTalking Transit\u201d events to keep members, elected officials, stakeholders,\ntransit riders and others in the loop on issues and efforts influencing the\nlocal transit system. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These educational\ngatherings feature guest speakers and panel discussions addressing a wide range\nof topics, including transit-oriented development, safety and security, best\npractices, service changes and more.
