Honors 8 plus East \u201995 State Champs<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

   The Hazelwood School\nDistrict celebrated 70 years of high expectations and excellence at the Hall of\nFame Awards Gala and Dance held Saturday, Dec. 14 at the Renaissance Hotel.\nNine Hall of Fame Awards were presented recognizing a diverse group of\nindividuals and organizations that have made significant contributions to\nHazelwood schools.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

HONOREES INCLUDE:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

   \u2022  long time HSD board member and volunteer Ann\nGibbons, <\/p>\n\n\n\n

   \u2022  district\nadvocate and Spanish Lake community leader Lottie Wade<\/p>\n\n\n\n

   \u2022  former Pittsburgh Steeler and current\nHazelwood Central High football coach Carey Davis (Central \u201999)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

   \u2022  Ed and Dan Brown of Brown & Brown\nAttorneys at Law (East \u201977 and \u201980)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

   \u2022  Missouri State Senator Brian Williams (Central\n\u201901)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

   \u2022  former\nHazelwood Superintendent and Missouri DESE Commissioner  Chris Nicastro<\/p>\n\n\n\n

   \u2022  The\n1995-1996 Hazelwood East High School football team, the Hazelwood PTA, and\nAmeren Missouri. About 20 players from the team and their head coach Rich\nGorzynski attended the gala.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Anthony Slaughter,\nmeteorologist and co-host on 5 on Your Side on Channel 5, was the master of\nceremonies.  He offered insight into his\ncareer and said he would often tell people at speaking engagements proudly that\nhe attended Hazelwood Schools and is a graduate of Hazelwood East. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

     School Board president\nMark Behlmann greeted the dinner attendees representing the seven members of\nthe Hazelwood School Board.  Nettie\nCollins-Hart, Hazelwood District superintendent, also spoke and introduced\nseveral of the award winners. \u201cWhen you look at the members of our Hall of Fame\nclass, it truly shows the spectrum of achievement and dreams we can help our\nchildren reach,\u201d Supt.
