The Ferguson-Florissant School District hosted a Back-to-School Parade and Fair during the picture perfect summer day, Saturday, Aug. 10.<\/span><\/p>\n

The parade began at 9 a.m. at the Mark Twain Restoration and Re-Entry Center, 1555 Derhake Rd., traveled west to Waterford Dr., made a right on Waterford and concluded at McCluer North High School, 705 Waterford Dr.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Various district schools\/departments and community organizations traveled the 1.2-mile route.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The fair was held on the grounds of the district\u2019s old Administration Center, 1005 Waterford Dr.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0 <\/strong>Attendees had the opportunity to receive vital information relative to the 2019-20 school year, enjoy fun and educational activities, play various games, enjoy main stage entertainment and music; and interact with district staff and administrators.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

A limited number of backpacks and school supplies were given away, and community partners and outside businesses were also on hand, offering services beneficial to district students and families. Classes in the Ferguson-Florissant District begin Thursday, Aug. 15.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ferguson-Florissant School District students and their family members and friends packed the lots as they enjoyed this year\u2019s annual back-to-school fair that was held on Aug. 10. Many local schools, departments, and organizations hosted information booths to get people acquainted.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Several large bounce houses were set up in the field and patrons could even visit a painting station where various art supplies were laid out so that guests could paint on a \u201cmural wall\u201d that had been set up.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\u201cI think it\u2019s great to see all the families out here today,\u201d said one student\u2019s grandmother, Debbie Bartholomew. \u201cThere have been so many recent changes to the District, I think this is the first step we all need to acclimate us into the new year.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
