\n I am going to start my column out this week talking about the Cardinals. Everywhere I go, I get grief about not writing about the Cardinals lately.. All I can say is that the Cards get a ton of coverage elsewhere and the fans are following them so closely that there is little that I can say that hasn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t already been said. <\/p>\n
My thoughts though are strongly favorable as the team makes the final approach to the playoffs. The only thing I worry about is the Cardinals peaking a bit to early here. The pitching has been fabulous and that is what will when championships. The nice cool nights right now will remind us all of sitting at Busch Stadium on those cool October nights watching the Cards in the World Series, I hope.<\/p>\n
Early Prediction For Rams: 9-7<\/p>\n
Onto the Rams, it was great to see this team go 3-1 in the preseason. This is much better than many expected and is always a great way to get it kicked off. The real test will be a Marc Bulger falls back into the lineup as the starter after not being in the lineup for the preseason. You look around the league right now and the teams are either really strong or really weak. <\/p>\n
I personally feel the Rams are young and that they fall right in the middle. I think the whole aspect of not having any expectations will really help this team feel there way through the season. With those pressures off of their shoulders, I feel this team will go 9-7. I might change my prediction after I see the team start the real season, It could swing a game or two either way.<\/p>\n
What a way to close out the summer other than a butt kicking by Mizzou on Illinois. Was this game really even a game? The Tigers took control right from the start and never looked back. It was hard to tell if Mizzou was that good or was Illinois that bad? Maybe alittle of both. The atmosphere at the game was unbelievable until the Illini started to falter then it was all one sided. What a great thing for the St. Louis region, a huge rivalry like this to start the season. It’s a shame that this is the last year for a while\u00e2\u20ac\u201dhopefully it will be renewed again.<\/p>\n
In other Mizzou news, it was sad to see Chase Daniels get let go by the Washington Redskins as they decided to go with only two quarterbacks right now. However, late word is that he has signed with the New Orlean Saints. He could be placed on the practice squad there or third string quarterback. I hope he gets to stay in the NFL game somewhere. He can be a help to someone in the league, such as other Mizzou grads are like Jeremy Macklin.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
