FIREWORKS RITUAL CONTINUES <\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

AT EAGAN CENTER JULY 4<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

Florissant\u2019s proud tradition of celebrating Independence Day continues this year on the grounds of the James J. Eagan Civic Center at Florissant Valley Park, which is located at the intersection of Parker Road and Waterford Drive.<\/p>\n

Once again this year there will be food trucks to help celebrate the holiday. Here is the list of food trucks that will be there, Steamroller Bagel & Deli Food Truck, New York Tom\u2019s, Kona Ice, Mann Meats and Midwest Kettlecorn with others possibly signing up. Festivities begin with an outdoor concert performance by the Northwinds Concert Band at 7:30 p.m. (See story below.<\/em>)<\/p>\n

Following the concert, the City of Florissant is sponsoring its renowned fireworks display at 9:15 p.m. This year\u2019s extravaganza features a dazzling fireworks presentation combining brilliant shells, color sequencing, dimensional frontage, and low and high level aerial combinations.<\/p>\n

Florissant\u2019s show has always been very heavily attended and is widely honored and acclaimed by thousands of Florissant and North County sightseers. So bring out the blankets and lawn chairs to enjoy top notch, free entertainment for the entire family.<\/p>\n

In the event of inclement weather, the fireworks display ONLY will be held the following evening (July 5 at 9:15 p.m). For additional information, please call the James J. Eagan Center at 314-921-4466.<\/p>\n

HAZELWOOD HIRES ARC PYROTECHNICS <\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

AGAIN FOR JULY 4 FIREWORKS SHOW<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

The City of Hazelwood has chosen ARC Pyrotechnics to produce the Fourth of July pyromusical show for 2019. This year\u2019s fireworks show is scheduled for Thursday, July 4, in White Birch Park at 1186 Teson Road. Starting time is around 9:15 p.m.<\/p>\n

The City of Hazelwood is paying ARC Pyrotechnics $24,000 to provide its annual fireworks show. ARC plans to launch 5,714 rocket shells during its program. Of this amount, 1,118 will be large shells. Here is a breakdown of the shell totals: 440, 4\u201d size shells; 582, 3\u201d size shells and 96, 2.5\u201d size shells. They will be choreographed to a soundtrack and scripted to match the tempo during a 20-minute program.<\/p>\n

\u201cHazelwood\u2019s annual Fourth of July fireworks are one of the most anticipated and attended events in our community,\u201d said Doug Littlefield, Hazelwood\u2019s Supertinendent of the Parks & Recreation Division. \u201cWe chose ARC to do our pyromusical events because they are among the best at what they do. They use an assortment of firework effects that maximize people\u2019s visual enjoyment and use a state-of-the-art computer controlled firing system to precisely sync their rockets to the patriotic music.\u201d<\/p>\n

As in the past, there is no public parking at White Birch Park, with the exception of a limited number of disabled accessible spots. Other parking areas include the following: Armstrong Elementary School; Hazelwood West High School; Howdershell Park; and the Knights of Columbus. Shuttle buses will be running back and forth between the park and Armstrong as well as Hazelwood West, starting at 7 p.m. Those who park their vehicles at Howdershell Park and Knights of Columbus can walk to the fireworks site.<\/p>\n

To ensure the walking safety of local residents, the City of Hazelwood will be restricting parking on streets which surround White Birch Park. This will allow for safe arrival and departure of pedestrians from the park. The following streets will have signs posted saying, \u201cNO PARKING FROM 6 PM TO 11 PM,\u201d on July 4: Altavia Dr.; Chula Dr.; Monte Dr.; Christina Marie Lane; Christina Marie Court; Woodcrest Lane; Nathaniel Court; Amanda Lynn Dr.; Freeland Dr.; and Teson Road.<\/p>\n

In the event rain postpones the fireworks display on July 4, plans are to reschedule for July 5. For more information, call the Hazelwood Parks and Recreation Office at (314) 731-0980.<\/p>\n

The City of Florissant will once again host their free outdoor concert series, \u201cMusic Under the Stars.\u201d Starting Thursday, July 4 with the Northwinds Concert Band, under the direction of Larry Marsh, patriotic marches and hits from Broadway and film will precede the Independence Day fireworks in the Florissant Valley Park by the James J. Eagan Center at 7 :30 p.m. All other performances will take place at St. Ferdinand Park by the lake. Food trucks and ice cream every Saturday.<\/p>\n

FERGUSON 4TH OF JULY <\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

FESTIVAL AT JANUARY WABASH<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

Ferguson\u2019s annual fireworks display will again be held at January Wabash Memorial Park, 501 N. Florissant Rd., with fireworks beginning around 9:15 p.m.<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s theme is Ferguson Marching Forward and the festival colors are red, white, and blue.<\/p>\n
