<\/span>Last Friday Trinity Catholic football players huddled up after their second <\/span>win of the <\/span>and after head coach Leon Hite spoke the players took over and <\/span>made sure they focused on this Friday\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s 7 p.m. game. The Titans will take their <\/span>2-0 record, overall and in the Archdiocesan Athletic Association, to defending <\/span>AAA champion and Class Three State runner up Cardinal Ritter, who is also 2-0, <\/span>overall and in the AAA.<\/p>\n

<\/span>Ritter has a big runner, a big player, according to Hite, in junior running back Trey Perry, who has 46 carries for 529 yards and six touchdowns as well as a two-point conversion in Ritter wins over St. Dominic, 36-20 on Aug 28, and Bishop DuBourg, 53-0 last Friday. Perry also scored in last year\u00e2\u20ac\u02dcs Class Three title-game loss, 31-7 to Cassville. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153They got to get down and dirty,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Hite said about playing this Friday.<\/p>\n

<\/span>Trinity goes into Friday\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s game having already equaling last season mark of two wins (2-8 last year). However \u00e2\u20ac\u0153we got a real young bunch,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Hite said last Friday\u00e2\u20ac\u02dcs 55-6 home win over John. F. Kennedy. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153One of our goals was \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcdefinitely do better than last year.\u00e2\u20ac\u2122\u00e2\u20ac\u009d So far Trinity has outscored their first two opponents, 95-23 including a 40-17 win Aug. 28 at Lutheran-St. Charles County (in St. Peters) and a 55-6 home win last Friday over Kennedy.<\/p>\n

<\/span>Trinity has two players that have done the scoring damage for the Titans. Senior running back and wide receiver Marquise Hill has been the key weapon <\/span>since his freshman year and so far he has three touchdown runs including one as quarterback against Lutheran-St. Charles County, two touchdown receptions and <\/span>retuned a punt for a touchdown against Kennedy. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Hill is humble,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d said Hite, \u00e2\u20ac\u0153but he is a competitor.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n

<\/span>Hill \u00e2\u20ac\u0153makes other players better,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d said Hite. Hill has a quarterback that has <\/span>done more damage as junior Toma Peebles has been a key runner, with 15 carries<\/p>\n

for 206 yards and six touchdowns, and strong passer, completing 16 out of 29\u00c2\u00a0passes for 254 yards and four touchdowns and no interceptions.<\/p>\n

<\/span>TRINITY HONORS MERCY 1959, 1969 TEAMS<\/strong> — Last Friday Trinity honored players <\/span>and coaches, <\/span>still alive, from the 1959 Catholic Athletic Conference and <\/span>City\/County championship team and the 1969 Missouri State High School Activities <\/span>Association Class 3A Runner up teams. One of the assistant coaches from the 1969 team is current Trinity assistant Hank Barrere, former head coach at Jennings, Rosary and Kennedy. <\/span>\u00e2\u20ac\u0153It\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s coaching that\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s what I want to do,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d said Barrere at <\/span>Mercy\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s post-game reception at Trinity.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
