Blues Still In Hunt For<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/h1>\n

The Cup on Thursday<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/h1>\n

Here we go again, another night of agony, I call it that because I am on the edge of my seat for 3 solid hours.<\/p>\n

If I\u2019m not sitting down, I am up pacing around. That is because of the Blues.<\/p>\n

We called the former Cardinals football team the Cardiac Cards, well the the Blues are a close second. I cannot believe that I can get so worked up over a game that I am not even playing in. I am not alone, it seems like everyone I talk to is in the same boat.<\/p>\n

A friend of mine has cancelling practices to watch the game. That\u2019s commitment to the Blues. I must say again, that I am writing this column on Tuesday on eve of game 6,<\/p>\n

One thing for sure..as your read this, the Blues on Thursday are still in the hunt for the championship. So by now these same sentiments follow if there\u2019s a game seven or are following into the Stanley Cup championship that starts May 27.<\/p>\n

I think as we all know, the turning point in this series with Sharks was the hand pass goal. Its funny how in life and sports, the things that seem to work against are motivators in the end. This was in a huge way. The Blues dominated the Sharks in game 5. It wasn\u2019t even really a contest. I am going to end it here except for the fact that the Blues have really stepped up and made this town proud. Hope they keep it going.<\/p>\n

I don\u2019t write much about the PGA but did you see any of this last weekend? Brooks Koepka had a lead that the announcers kept saying was in no way of jeopardy. He would have to shoot the worst round of his life and the others the best ever. Guess what happened, well almost. He shot 4 over par and only won by 2 strokes.<\/p>\n

This goes to show you that a lead in any sport is not for certain, even golf, Golf is a mind game anyway and once it gets in your head, you can lose it quickly and it fell apart for Brooks. It was unreal to watch. With storylines like this, along with Tiger Woods\u2019 big win, the PGA viewer-ship and attendance numbers are at an all time high.<\/p>\n

LOSING A CLOSE COUSIN <\/strong><\/p>\n

I know I talk a lot about family and making every second count, I would like to tell a story about a family member who was taken last week from us far too early in life. Last week, I received a text in the middle of the day that my 38-year cousin had died. What a shocker to all of us. He lived in New York and was a behind the scenes guy for several big movies along with TV series\u2019 Gotham, and many others.<\/p>\n

We knew he was a special guy but we didn\u2019t know how special till the funeral this weekend where over a thousand people who showed up to greet his family from all over the United States. He had touched so many people\u2019s lives that we never knew.<\/p>\n

There were stories about him taking coffee to a homeless everyday for years, taking food night to the older gentleman above him in the apartment in New York nightly. He was a genuine good guy. It has been a hard week for all of us and I know a lot of you out there are also experiencing similar things.<\/p>\n

The one thing I can say though is that it has made me cherish life even more. It can be taken and we don\u2019t know how much time we have with someone. Make every moment count. Little did I think that we he left our house at the last family function, that would be the last time I saw him.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
