North Point intends to construct a total of eight buildings with the potential to support up to 4 million square feet of new commercial space.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Officials representing the City of Hazelwood, U.S. Senator Roy Blunt\u2019s St. Louis Office, Missouri Department of Economic Development, St. Louis County Council and local Chamber of Commerces gathered for a ribbon-cutting ceremony May 6 for NorthPoint Development\u2019s Hazelwood TradePort on Monday, May 6. The event was held in the southwest side of Building 2 (opposite Buse Industries) at 4806 Trade Access Blvd. in Hazelwood.<\/p>\n<p>NorthPoint Development, based in Kansas City, MO, is the developer. The ribbon-cutting event marks the completion of the first two warehouse buildings of this Class A park, featuring 36-foot ceilings. Leasing activity has been strong. HTP II consisting of 252,000 square feet is 70% leased and HTP III consisting of 493,675 square feet is 25% leased. In all, North Point plans to build eight industrial buildings with the potential to support up to 4 million square feet of new construction. All buildings and roads will be elevated above the 500-year flood plain.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNorthPoint has continued to invest in the City of Hazelwood due to it\u2019s strategic location, workforce, and the City\u2019s vision for the future,\u201d said Brent Miles, NorthPoint\u2019s chief marketing officer. \u201cWe have developed a great partnership with the city that will culminate into over $200 million of new capital investment and thousands of jobs for the community. We love to invest in this community and know our future is bright with Hazelwood TradePort,\u201d said Miles.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0\u00a0 NorthPoint began its partnership with the City of Hazelwood when the company acquired Hazelwood Logistics Center (HLC) back in 2015. A total of seven additional warehouse buildings were added within a three-year period.
