\n The Dining Divas took advantage of another unusually cool summer evening in July and enjoyed dinner outside. Typically, we have to wait for the fall to choose a place with outdoor dining. Not this year.<\/p>\n
Although it wouldn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t have been our first choice had we known it was going to be so beautiful, we dined at Barrister\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s in Clayton. When I walked up to the restaurant, I realized I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122d been to Barrister\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s before. Actually, the Dining Divas had been there before, only it wasn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t called Barrister\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s. It was called Figaro\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s. And Crazy Fish before that. And something else before that. Can anyone take a hint?<\/p>\n
Barrister\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s was voted Best Mid-County Neighborhood Bar by the Riverfront Times. They offer incredible happy hour deals, like buy one, get one beers, free wings on Mondays and Tuesday, and $5 appetizers. Next time I return, I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m ordering the Happy Hour Tower. It\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s a chef\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s selection of appetizers. It looked great. <\/p>\n
The few happy hour drinks we devoured couldn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t cheer up a couple Divas with work issues. One who\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s feeling frustrated and stifled. And another who\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s being let go. After several years. So we sat and devised plans of action. The end result? We\u00e2\u20ac\u2122d rather just complain than really do anything about it. <\/p>\n
So instead, we ate. Barrister\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s menu ranges from gourmet to grill. And instead of gourmet, we stuck with grill. But this was a Diva night that wasn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t about the food.<\/p>\n
The food at Barrister\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s was fine, and what we ordered was good. Like a burger with fries and the turkey club croissant. But people go to Barrister\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s for the atmosphere like watching soccer matches or local sporting events. Or enjoying the sidewalk seating. And on this night, enjoying the live window models across the street. <\/p>\n
They were quite entertaining. So much so that we stopped in after dinner and browsed the boutique. And were we thankful we didn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t overindulge at dinner and feel even worse about not being able to fit into the fashion they had to offer.<\/p>\n
If Barrister\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s can make us feel good about that, they\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re voted Best Ever by us. Gorgeous night or not.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
