It wasn\u2019t the first time a couple of the Dining Divas had been to Peacemaker Lobster and Crab on Sidney Street in the Benton Park neighborhood of St. Louis. We enjoyed it then, and we hoped this group would feel the same way.<\/p>\n

The country chic d\u00e9cor appealed to some Divas who took several photos of the interior designs hoping to capture some ideas for their own homes. White brick walls, wood block tables, galvanized tub lights, and the rustic wooden plank ceiling appropriately looked like it belonged along the Atlantic or Gulf. Uniquely appealing were the large photos of the fishermen who provide the seafood for the restaurant, or at least that\u2019s who we thought they were.<\/p>\n

As visually appealing as Peacemaker is, it was the opposite when it came to being able to hear conversations. It was really loud in the restaurant. The Remodeling Diva\u2019s winter renovation project finally got finished\u2026mid-summer! The Newly Retired Diva enjoyed her summer traveling and finally making it to the Blueberry Festival in Michigan. And the Visiting Divas got a taste of just how loud this group can be, even without the awful acoustics in the restaurant.<\/p>\n

Fresh seafood flown in daily…Peacemaker scared off the Picky Diva, but the other Meat-Eater Divas decided to try it out. The Hushed Puppies and Lobster Steamed Buns were delicious, and the Seafood Novice Diva said she would definitely go back to try out more fish. The Seafood Gumbo had the perfect amount of spice and was thoroughly enjoyed. The Peacemaker Poorboy with fried oysters, lettuce, tomato and remoulade was excellent. The Clam Roll and the Lobster Roll were also good choices. A couple Divas shared the Shrimp Boil which is served with potatoes, corn on the cob, andouille and a buttermilk biscuit. The Shrimp Boil was good, but the biscuit was amazing. I would go back just for that biscuit. The Crab Roll was mostly roll and very little crab and was thought to be overpriced according to one Diva. Another said that the Clam Chowder was too salty; yet the Chopped Salad wasn\u2019t salty enough. Finishing off the night, a couple Divas enjoyed the Derby Pie which is made with chocolate and walnuts.<\/p>\n

Although a couple in the group didn\u2019t think they\u2019d ever go back, the majority of the Divas enjoyed Peacemaker. It\u2019s different from when those had gone before. The mad rush and hype have died down, but it still has a super cool vibe. Besides, how often do you come across a raw oyster bar and fresh seafood restaurant in landlocked St. Louis?
