Preschoolers in Anne Frese’s Tiny Tots class learn about Hawaiian Food and Culture.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Every year for the past 34 years since she started teaching, Ms. Anne Frese, who is known for her Educational Excellence, has been doing a Hawaiian Luau for her pre-school students. This week, she did her 2018 event at the Hazelwood Community Center with seven of her students, ages 3-1\/2 to 5, and invited the parents. Ms. Anne has been teaching the City of Hazelwood\u2019s Tiny Tots preschool class for all 34 years of her teaching career.<\/p>\n

Ms. Anne uses her Hawaiian Luau to educate students about the coconuts and pineapples grown in Hawaii. She also teaches them about the culture of Hawaii by having them make leis, draw pictures, sing and Hula to Hawaiian songs. The Luau also includes arts and crafts activities, such as making a volcano explode and using sand and paint to create footprints.<\/p>\n

Many Hazelwood residents have had Frese her as their pre-school teacher. Andrea Hopkins commented on the City\u2019s, \u201cI love Ms. Anne! She was my teacher when I was in Tiny Tots!\u201d Jennifer Francis Dix also commented, \u201cMs. Anne is the best ever!!!\u201d Ms. Anne has had such a positive impact on a lot of them that they make it a point to enroll their children in her classes<\/p>\n

The City of Hazelwood\u2019s Tiny Tots preschool program for kids, ages 3-1\/2 to five, is an economical start for a child\u2019s education. Preschoolers who attend Ms. Anne\u2019s classes enjoy a variety of positive learning experiences with music, crafts and social activities. Ms. Anne also includes group activities and field trips into her curriculum program.<\/p>\n

The fees for a 16-class schedule are $222 for residents and $232 for non-residents. Parents have the option of having their preschoolers attend four days per week by registering them for both morning sessions. Parents should call the Parks and Recreation Office at (314) 731-0980 and discuss their needs with management personnel. Registration deadlines are August 25 and October 20.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
