Lindbergh. They also voted on bills, a resolution, and a request.<\/p>\n<p>In the first public hearing, the city heard about a request by Bentwood Nursing and Rehab to expand the nursing home at 1504 Charbonier Road.<\/p>\n<p>Time Woodard spoke for Bentwood Nursing Center. He said they would add 40 beds. The center opened in 1989, he said. It currently has 60 beds. \u201cWe want to double down in Florissant,\u201d he said. \u201cThis will give the building what it needs to be successful through the years.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Bentwood purchased three homes in front of the center. They will use the lots for the expansion. \u201cWe\u2019ll be rehabbing the entire facility with this project,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Councilman Tim Jones represents the ward in which the center is located. \u201cI\u2019m fully in favor of this,\u201d he said. He asked if they could clean up some of the wooded area on the property line, and Woodard said they would.<\/p>\n<p>The addition will also include new parking. The new addition, like the current center, will be all skilled nursing. Bentwood does not have assisted or independent living.<\/p>\n<p>No one spoke in opposition to the addition and the council held a first reading on the bill that would approve the project.<\/p>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #008000;\">Brite Worx Car Wash Seeks Vacuum Expansion<\/span><\/h4>\n<p>In the second hearing, the council heard about a request to expand the vacuum area for Brite Worx car wash at 475 N. Hwy. 67.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat we\u2019ve found during the two years the facility has been open, is that the vacuums are popular,\u201d said the representative for Brite Worx. He said it was hard to predict how popular the vacuums would be at each location.<\/p>\n<p>This project is also in Jones\u2019 ward. He said he had talked to the neighbors and they were in agreement with the project. The one thing they would like, he said, is for their chain link fences to be removed where a privacy wall will be put up. If both are there, he said, the weeds will become a problem.<\/p>\n<p>No one spoke in opposition to the addition and the council held a first reading on the bill that would approve the project.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>\u00a0\u00a0 <span style=\"color: #008000;\">In other matters<\/span>,<\/strong> the council:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Passed a bill that approves a sign for Goodwill at 455 N. Highway 67.<\/li>\n<li>Passed a bill that authorizes a masonry building addition for property at 3524 Patterson Road.<\/li>\n<li>Passed a bill that authorizes new directional signs for the Circle K at 1545 S.
