I\u2019m always excited about our Dining Divas nights, but I was super excited for our last gathering. The girls all came to my house for a pizza and palette painting party. Pizza from one of Florissant\u2019s finest long-time establishments and from one of Florissant\u2019s newest restaurants\u2026BJ\u2019s and their neighbor in Old Town, Amore\u2019s Pizza.<\/p>\n

Although we were having plenty of pizza, a couple ladies volunteered to bring dessert too. But what should have been only a couple desserts ended up being about half a dozen. But no one minded. Pizza and chocolate naturally go together.<\/p>\n

Several of the Divas had never experienced BJ\u2019s pizza before, and the Local Divas convinced them to try it in person some time.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 It was quite an afternoon the last time a couple of the Day-Drinking Divas were at BJ\u2019s and quite an evening of sleeping it off at home on the patio furniture outside. This time was different. No need for sleeping anything off. And no surprise. Everyone loved BJ\u2019s pizza. The supreme was a favorite.<\/p>\n

All of the Divas tried the newbie too, Amore\u2019s. Although it was a sweeter sauce than BJ\u2019s, the consensus was that Old Town has some really great pizza options with the new kid on the block and the oldie but a goodie. Like BJ\u2019s, Amore\u2019s offers more than just pizza with pasta, sandwiches, and fried chicken also on the menu. And if you are an un-St. Louisan and prefer your pizza to be made with mozzarella rather than provel, Amore\u2019s will accommodate.<\/p>\n

Even though we were full of pizza, the Divas couldn\u2019t pass up the multiple cakes and treats. But then it was time to get to work. We all gathered in the garage to create some really awesome palette masterpieces. In a matter of a couple hours, every Diva had finished their creations. Like with the local pizza joints, we enjoyed supporting a local business, Mommy\u2019s DeSign Farm, who brought all the supplies and lots of patience to show us all what we needed to do.<\/p>\n

What a great night it was! One of the Divas thought that the pizza was the best she\u2019s ever had. And aside from the Creative-Challenged Diva who decided she could not participate in the craft as the sweat dripped from her forehead just thinking about doing it, everyone really enjoyed themselves and were surprised how great the signs turned out. Even the Middle School Diva did a fabulous job.<\/p>\n

So, the Dining Divas stayed local, ate local, and played locally by making signs together. And just as I suspected, we\u2019re ready to do it again.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
