North County Churches Uniting for Racial Harmony and Justice will honor the Hazelwood Board of Education for its efforts to promote racial harmony and justice in the school district. The HSD Board will be honored at NCCU\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Fifth Annual Awards Dinner, which will take place on April 19 at 4 p.m. in the May Center at SSM-DePaul Health Center in Bridgeton.<\/p>\n
“We are honored to be able to recognize the Hazelwood School Board for its commitment to diversity and equity for students, teachers and staff,” said Rance Thomas, president of NCCU. “This is evidenced by the board supporting diversity training for many of its staff, teachers and a number of board members by their participation in Dismantling Racism training. In addition, we are very pleased that the board established formal goals to include minorities in construction and other business contracts with the school district.”<\/p>\n
