Throughout the year volunteers from around St. Louis pack empty shoeboxes with fun toys, school supplies and hygiene items for Operation Christmas Child, a project of Samaritan\u2019s Purse.<\/p>\n

The St. Louis Area Operation Christmas Child team is hosting three Christmas in July parties to provide more information about the project and how to get involved.<\/p>\n

Updates and Operation Christmas Child supplies will also be provided to equip volunteers to pack shoebox gifts and encourage others to do the same. There is one location dates remaining in North County.<\/p>\n

Saturday, July 29, 10 \u2013 11:30 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Ferguson, 333 N. Florissant Road.<\/p>\n

There is a free gift for the organizations that RSVP to tracibocc@gmail.com<\/a><\/p>\n

Packing shoebox gifts is the first part of a journey across the globe for thousands of gifts packed by local families. These gifts are then prepared and delivered to children in need overseas. For more information on how to participate in Operation Christmas Child or to view gift suggestions, call Vicki Stamps, St. Louis Area Coordinator, at 314-363-1150 or visit\u00a0samaritanspurse.org\/occ.<\/p>\n

Participants can donate $9 per shoebox gift online through \u201cFollow Your Box\u201d and receive a tracking label to discover its destination. Those who prefer the convenience of online shopping can browse\u00a0samaritanspurse.org\/buildonline\u00a0to select gifts matched to a child.<\/p>\n
