\"1.15-STEM-logo\"<\/a><\/strong>The St. Louis County Office of Community Empowerment is holding a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) Camp at a brand new community center in the Castle Point neighborhood.<\/p>\n

These camps, known as Mad Science, are offered to kids between the ages of 6 and 13. Students learn about cryptology, the physics of flying, the environment, and the solar system.<\/p>\n

Through Community Empowerment\u2019s efforts, 40 income-eligible children are attending Mad Science for free over two weeks. Signup is on a first-come, first-served basis, and spots are still available. Royal Banks of Missouri and Blueprint4Summer are funding the camps.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is the third year the Office of Community Empowerment had held these camps for our North County students and it\u2019s been a huge success,\u201d St. Louis County Executive Steve Stenger said. \u201cThanks to the efforts of Ethel Byndom, the head of Community Empowerment, we are able to bring the camp to the Castle Point neighborhood for the first time. Our kids have really enjoyed the Mad Science program and what they learn over the summer stimulates interest that carries over into the school year.\u201d<\/p>\n

There will be two one week sessions at the Castle Point Community Center at 2465 Baroness Dr. St. Louis, MO 63136 from July 17-21st and July 24-28th.<\/p>\n
