{"id":1767,"date":"2009-03-19T11:53:27","date_gmt":"2009-03-19T17:53:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.flovalleynews.com\/?p=1767"},"modified":"2009-03-19T11:53:27","modified_gmt":"2009-03-19T17:53:27","slug":"aviator-business-park-planned-in-hazelwood-council-vote-expected-april-1","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/flovalleynews.com\/?p=1767","title":{"rendered":"Aviator Business Park Planned in Hazelwood Council  Vote  Expected  April  1"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>BY JEANETTE EBERLIN<br \/>\n   Things are starting to &#8220;roll&#8221;  in Hazelwood regarding the old Ford plant area and, officials say &#8220;good things.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>    To the passer-by now traveling on Lindbergh Blvd. the sight is of a battered old building with broken windows.<\/p>\n<p>  The  &#8220;good things&#8221; happening are that the area has been purchased by Panattoni  Company of California, a nationwide development company,  and representatives appeared before Hazelwood\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s  City Plan Commission last week seeking approval of two activities. <\/p>\n<p>   At the meeting Panattoni, known as Aviator Business Park, was given approval for resubdivision of two tracts of ground that ownership will be transferred from Norfolk Southern Railway Company to Panattoni.<\/p>\n<p>   It had been done previously but the Ford Company had never recorded the action.<br \/>\n   In other action, permission was granted to allow Panattoni to create one lot known as Aviator Business Park Plat 1 in a heavy industrial district. <\/p>\n<p>   &#8220;Thus they may proceed to put a building on it,&#8221; said Hazelwood\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Director of Public Works Tom Manning.  &#8220;It\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s a combination of Ford and the old Kroger Warehouse site.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>    Speaking of that, Manning added, &#8220;I think their intention is (for the building) by fall of 2010.  Then it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s possible we will have a new street in and a building, if not completed, under construction.&#8221;  <\/p>\n<p>   Steve Quigley, spokesman for Panattoni,  told the Commission, &#8220;The warehouse building is gone and some buildings will remain, and all of  the old plant will be removed. &#8220;We have been making progress all winter.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>   Mayor T. R. Carr said:  &#8220;This project represents an opportunity for an economic stimulus for the City of Hazelwood.  The residents of Hazelwood and of North County will benefit from jobs as the development moves forward.
