The Muny will present \u2018comedy tonight\u201d for A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum<\/em>, the third production of its 99th season, which plays July 5-11. A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum<\/em> is sponsored by Clarkson Eyecare. Performances are 8:15 nightly.<\/p>\n

Load up the chariots and off to The Muny for big laughs! Considered one of Broadway\u2019s greatest farces, this musical romp through Rome includes desperate lovers, mistaken identities, scheming neighbors and secrets behind every toga. With delicious music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, this is one hair-brained Roman forum.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere will be, no doubt, \u2018comedy tonight\u2019 with this crew,\u201d said Muny Artistic Director and Executive Producer Mike Isaacson. \u201c I can\u2019t wait to experience the delicious mayhem they will create with Gary Griffin.\u201d<\/p>\n

This comedic ensemble includes:<\/p>\n

Justina Aveyard, Molly Callinan, Emily Hsu, Khori Michelle Petinaud, Katelyn Prominski and Lainie Sakakura. They join Peter Scolari (Pseudolus), John Tartaglia (Hysterium), Ali Ewoldt (Philia), Mark Linn-Baker (Senex), E. Faye Butler (Domina), John Kravits (Lycus), Marrick Smith (Hero), Nathaniel Hackmann (Miles Gloriosus), Whit Reichert (Erronius) and Marcus Choi, Justin Keyes and Tommy Scrivens (Proteans).<\/p>\n

PETER SCOLARI\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 (Pseudolus) has a long career in tv and movies including<\/p>\n

Bronx Bombers, Wicked, Lucky Guy, Hairspray, Sly Fox, Magic Bird, Out of this World, Ziegfeld Follies of 1937 (Encores!) 2016 Emmy Award Outstanding Guest Actor for Girls (HBO), Gotham, Odd Mom Out, Madoff (ABC Films), Newhart (Three-time Emmy nominee), and Bosom Buddies are among his most know roles.<\/p>\n

JOHN TARTAGLIA\u00a0\u00a0 (Hysterium) Broadway credit include Avenue Q (Tony nomination), Disney\u2019s Beauty and the Beast, Shrek the Musical. John created, executive produced and starred in his own preschool series Johnny and the Sprites for Disney Junior (8 Emmy nominations) and performed on Sesame Street (PBS Kids) for 13 seasons.<\/p>\n

JASON KRAVITS\u00a0\u00a0 (Lycus) is back to The Muny, where he played Bert Barry in last season\u2019s 42nd Street. Broadway credits include The Drowsy Chaperone, Sly Fox and Relatively Speaking (an evening of one acts by Ethan Coen, Elaine May and Woody Allen).<\/p>\n
